Retired Married 2
Hi Classmates! Here is a 55-year-reunion update: It is doubtful I will make it to the reunion, because we will have five house guests at that time--dear extended family who have not been here since 2001. It is possible, I could show up at the last minute, though.

We get together usually once a year with Cherry (Zeidler) Gilmer and her husband, Steven. It is always a special time.

Rolf and I are enjoying these retirement years, in fairly good health, and so grateful for each day. We also are grateful for a precious family of two children and their spouses, and six grandchiildren. We travel to Franklin, TN a couple times of year to see our daughter and family. Our son and family live in Lakeville. They all bring so much joy.

We go to Palm Desert, CA for about three weeks each November and some place warm usually in January.

Rolf and I will be celebrating our 50th wedding anniversary January 13, 2018. We plan to celebrate at Thanksgiving this November in MN with the family.

We host a lot of family and friends throughout the year (especially in the summer), and that is a way for us to enjoy and bless others.

God bless you all! He is good!

50-year-reunion update:
After high school I spent 4 years in Bible college and one year at Bemidji State College. Then I married my wonderful husband, Rolf, who was doing mission work in Puerto Rico already. I joined him there for 7 years and both our children (Carlton and Lisa) were born there. We returned to the states in 1975. My husband has been involved in the Christian book industry for over 45 years including working for other publishers, owning a publishing company, serving on various boards, etc. and now mentoring publishers in Ukraine, China, and Cambodia. I was a stay-at-home Mom most of the time because he traveled so much. However, I did work for Control Data for a few years as a word processor and assisted my husband for 9 years in sales and rep support when we owned a small publishing house. That was sold in 2000 to a division of Hallmark, and I retired at that time.

I like to entertain, cook, walk and exercise, dance, and bless people by giving them shoulder and neck rubs. We attend Hosanna Church in Lakeville.

I attended Mankato State after graduation.  I worked for Richfield Bank for a couple of years, then went to work for Fireman's Fund Ins. Co. in Mpls.  I met and married my husband, Tom.  We will be married for 43 years this July.  We have 2 daughters and 2 grandchildren - a girl 17 and a boy 7. Our daughter, Tammy, will remarry in August and we will add 2 more grandchildren to our family - a girl 17 and boy 14.  I went to work at the College of Marin for 12 years part time as the kids got older.   I have always loved helping out in the children's classes.  I am volunteering in our grandson's 1st grade class and the other 2 first grade classes once a week for the Literacy program.  I am really enjoying it.  Tom and I are both retired.  We travel as much as possible.  We have a place in Napa that we go to quite often.  We enjoy golfing and I love scrapbooking.  I walk with my neighbor every morning for an hour+ when we are home. I have had a wonderful life and feel very blessed.  Tom and I went away for a couple of days down the coast last weekend.  I met a sales lady in a store who asked if I was from Minnesota.  She could tell from my accent!  She was from Minnesota, also.   I laughed and said, "Three other people, in 2 days, have asked me the same thing!"  After leaving Minnesota 41 years ago, I guess the pronunciation of certain words never leaves you. My best to you all.  Take care everyone.  Send Deanne a MessageSend Deanne a Message

Retirement is for me!  Married to my husband Dick since 1963.  I spend a lot of time with our three kids and six grandchildrena.  Also volunteer at an assisted living facility in Andover playing cards.  The Lord comes first in my life as has been since 1968.  We have enjoyed three winters in Minnesota now instead of going to Florida. They have been mild so that is good.  It is nice to be near our family year-round.  We now live at Realife Senior Cooperative in Coon Rapids.  Love the people, activities and carefree living.  Silver and Fit actually comes here instead of us getting in the car and driving to the YMCA.  I love life.  Send Sondra a MessageSend Sondra a Message

In 1966 I graduated from the U of MN with a B.S. degree in Foods and Nutrition/Home Economics.  In October of 1966, I married Ron Wald, a 1960 RHS graduate.  I then worked as a home economist for NSP (my dream job) until our son Chad was born.  Ever since high school, when I heard an NSP home economist as a guest speaker in my Home Ec class, I wanted to do this job.  One memorable event was going to Harmon Killebrew's home on Prior Lake to demonstrate new appliances to he and his wife.  I'll never forget how fun and nice they were.  I then was a free lance home economist for several other companies.  I then had an opportunity to work part time in accounting for a large commercial travel agency.  I was only going to stay 6 months, but ended up staying 20+ years.  The owner and people were fantastic.  My sister and I then developed some bridal products which we sold at a booth at the MN State Fair for a number of years.

Ron and I were blessed with a wonderful son and daughter (both married).  Our son Chad, has his Doctor's degree and is a Medtronic Spinal Consultant.  And our daughter Bridget is an Occupational Therapist.  We had so much fun with Chad's hockey and baseball, and Bridget in soccer and cheerleading and met so many good friends through them.  We have two grandchildren, Jamison (6) and Delaney (3), who we adore.

We spent years vacationing on the Whitefish chain of lakes in northern MN.  Finally we bought a little place on Crosslake, remodeled it, sold it, bought another and remodeled it.  This is probably our family's favorite place to be.

Ron and I do most things together, we love boating, traveling, sports, politics, remodeling projects, and of course spending precious time with our family and friends (still see RHS friends).  I also love to cook, entertain, and decorate and our son Chad would add "talking" to the list.

Also, I am so fortunate to still have my mother who turns 101 in September.  She has been loads of fun and an inspiration to my entire family.  Most of all, she instilled in me a faith and trust in God, to spend time on things that are eternal and to trust in God's plan for my life.  What an honor, if I could be a fraction of the person she is.

I am very grateful for the wonderful friends and memories from RHS and I am looking forward to our 50th Reunion.

P.S., I still really miss Jamy Sugimura who was one of my very best friends since 3rd grade.

Soon after graduation I married a Norseman. We were married for 13 years and had two wonderful children (Angela & Erik).  I have been married to my current husband (Al) for 32 years.  He has a daughter from his first marriage. Between our 3 kids, we have 13 grandchildren and 1 great grandchild.  After high school it took me a couple of years before I found out how much I loved working with computers.  I became a computer instructor for Wang Laboratories. Left them to start my own business.  But was rudely awakened from that dream when I realized you had to have money to make money.  So I went to work for Collectibles Showcase in the Mall of America.  Worked for them for about 5 years.  However, Al and I always hated the MN cold so we moved to AZ about 13 years ago.  We live about 30 minutes from my Mom who had moved here about 5 years before we came. In April of last year, both Al and I retired.  I absolutely love retirement.  But I'm so busy I don't know how I ever had time to work.  I love going to plays with my friends and am a season ticket holder to our local dinner theater.  I also belong to a monthly Bunco group and play MahJong every other week.  I am also a member of the Red Hat Society which meets once a month.  I love the sisterhood and friendships.  I especially enjoy going to Red Hat conventions and dressing up in my fancy Rat Hats - not to mention putting on a lot of Bling.  I'm sorry to say I will not be attending as hoped.  I recently found out that my mother has breast cancer and she will still be in treatment around the time of our reunion.  Though I cannot be with all of you in person, I will be there in spirit.  I look forward to seeing the DVD and booklet.  Have fun everyone.

50 years, WOW!  Just how did that happen? I was  married to Don Iverson in June of 63.  Don went to Roosevelt high school and was a Rail Road Engineer.  We had 3 children, Tammy who is 47, Brian who is 44 and Bob who is 40.  We were also blessed with 5 Grandchildren.  Tammy has 2 girls and Brian has 3 boys,2 living and 1 that was still born.  I was a stay at home Mom until the kids were in school and then worked a variety of part time jobs.  In 1998 I took a job in the Mortgage industry and have been in Mortgage ever since.  I lost Don in 1999 to Pancreatic Cancer and life has just not been the same.  I do enjoy traveleing and have been to Europe, China and on a few crusies.  I am looking forward to seeing evryone in September.
